The MD/MPH dual degree is designed to prepare students to lead at the nexus of health care and public health with the Health Systems in the Community Context MPH concentration. Students will learn to understand the utility of how data can inform community-responsive interventions that target underlying factors influencing community health across the continuum of public health and healthcare. Students will also learn to communicate health information effectively, advocate for data-driven healthcare and health systems interventions, and utilize data to develop community-responsive interventions that target the underlying factors influencing community health across the continuum of public health and healthcare.
 
The MD/MPH dual degree will allow students to concurrently earn a Master of Public Health through UT School of Public Health San Antonio and an MD through the Long School of Medicine. A student must be accepted to both the School of Public Health and School of Medicine to be eligible for this dual degree program.
